Pennies—or $0.01 in the united states—is a great example of how we attribute value to money, and how fast that value can be removed by human design.
When it mattered to pay the $0.01, you would stop to pick up a penny. Now that pennies are effectively removed from the value chain by decree (by fiat), you wouldn’t even bother to acquire one penny, much less carry any in your pocket.
#bitcoin never has this problem.
