99% of society is incapable of independently researching hardware wallets. It’s all social signal. The real lesson to take away is that you have to create your own entropy and make people that you recommend wallets to, do the same. Everyone can do that. Enough of the, “my hardware choice didn’t fail, look at me” virtue signaling.
As an aside, this is actually one of the 1% that can DYOR. So, he can say this, but it’s highly inapplicable to the overwhelming majority.
The folks who got burned by coldcard have something in common with the folks burned by BIP-110:
