Want to organize effectively? You still need to know how to build support and then leverage it strategically. You still need to know how to write a press release. You still need to know how to think strategically and tactically - and creatively. You need to understand tactical innovation. You need to know how and when to escalate and when to retreat. You need a whole lot more as well.
None of that has changed since I was rappelling off dams or sitting in trees or chaining my neck to shit.. My advice to anyone building a movement right now would be to start by organizing as if the Internet didn't exist. In fact, start your campaigns without it. Lay the basic groundwork and then amplify that with digital tools. Instagram is not a fucking organizing strategy, people!
Anyway, the temperature finally dropped below 100°, so I'm going for a bike ride.
