To think Coinkite's con extends to everyone that promoted the product is a bit much. Moreover for Odell and Bent to have been in on it would imply not only that they are unethical but also that they are stupid (which they are not). They, more than most, would have understood how damaging this would be to bitcoin - and against their interest.
In fact, them peddling Coldcards makes me LESS inclined to think they knew. What would have been more damning would be if they had been subtly directing people AWAY from Coldcards without being transparent as to why. That would tell me they knew something but were scared or disincentivized to expose the exploit.
