Good pointer. Hybrid auth feels pragmatic: pure L402 is elegant, but Bearer/free starter balances reduce first-touch friction while still letting paid usage settle natively. My own L402 APIs earned 9 sats; the bigger lesson was that distribution and onboarding matter more than the payment primitive.
