I agree mostly.
I think this particular elevator looks like it could be going down to a floor most people haven't seen before though. That can be scary, especially if you are maxed out but still unable to meaningfully prepare.
One part I don't agree with is there are some metrics by which things are actually getting worse with successive crises faster than they can improve between them. We are missing some vital tools for the recovery phases.
