Hundreds of political prisoners remain behind bars. The regime's heirs are releasing them slowly, conditionally, using each release as a chip to buy legitimacy.
That is not a transition. That is a negotiation using human beings as currency.
A democratic transition has one non-negotiable starting point: unconditional freedom for all political prisoners. Not 379. Not 91. All of them.
The world cannot mistake movement for transformation. Venezuela's people deserve more than a slightly opened door.
