"content": "Ooo ooo look what I got! A real bug light set! Tomorrow I will set up a little frame with a piece of white fabric, but I had to test it out tonight with this white-ish doormat, the only thing I had handy. I want to set it up down by the pond to see what shows up there.\n\nThese are little, low power USB lights, so I'm not sure how far away the bugs can see them. They're made for backpacking into remote sites so they are not as bright as the ones my professional naturalist friends use. I would have to revisit the specs, but they put out two of the specific UV wavelengths that bugs are attracted to.\n\nI've had them up 15 minutes and only got a handful of moths, but it's quite chilly tonight, so I don't expect a whole lot.\n\n#entomology #Insects #Bugs #Moths\nhttps://files.sfba.social/media_attachments/files/116/877/367/431/273/203/original/c1718dfbdbb4d48e.jpeg\n",
