"Freedom is not something you're given. It's something you hold."
I wrote this line preparing my TED talk. It comes from seven years in a cell — where every freedom, movement, speech, family, thought — depended on someone else's key.
Autocracy works by accumulating keys. Bitcoin. Nostr. Open protocols. These are not tech trends. They are keys being returned to the people who were never supposed to lose them.
We are not rebuilding Venezuela just politically. We are rebuilding it architecturally — so no single actor can ever hold all the keys again.
