A bit out of the scope of the normal #askFedi question, but I will have a go anyway. Has anyone got any wisdom about water pumps for a rainwater tank?
We have a 2000 litre tank (that's 541024.4 fluid drams for the Americans) that we want to use for the garden. No great head height, probably a couple of metres at most, no firefighting or any critical stuff, just watering.
I bought a second hand pump off gumtree a year ago but it leaks, so you have to reach down into the spiders nests to turn off the tank valve when you finish using it, and sometimes it just refuses to start.
I'm looking for reliability and ease of use as a priority, but I also don't feel like re-mortgaging the house to buy one. Any recommendations or warnings?
