Sidecar 1.13 is out, and what a doozy of a release this one is!

A Square Deal for All: you can post a poll from the panel now, and read the whole tally there rather than being handed off somewhere else. Every option with its count and its share, who picked which, and the winner once it closes. Votes turn up in the notifications bell.

A new Industrial Age is upon us: there’s optional proof of work on your posts now. Off until you turn it on, set per account, at 16, 18, 20 or 22 bits. It reports how long it’s been working, and the Settings panel tells you what to expect at each level.

It wasn’t censorship, it was omission: some clients answer a kind 1 note with a kind 1111 comment, and Sidecar was only catching the first level of those threads. Everything underneath was invisible, and you had no way of knowing. Now you get the whole mixed thread, both reply types, the way it was written.

Because following a conversation on Nostr shouldn’t be harder than following one anywhere else.

And to all six Firefox users, you are not forgotten: 1.13 is a signed direct download now, so it installs from about:addons. The listing on addons.mozilla.org is a few versions behind and has been for a while (maybe they went on strike?), so take it from the releases page at sidecar.top instead. It doesn’t receive automatic updates, so you’ll need to do those on your own.
