The vast majority of CoinJoins that have ever been done are completely blown out like a 10 dollar whore because of busted ColdCard wallets that were used in them.
CoinJoin secrecy requires that not only you, but all of the participants securely handle your keys forever. The outputs also get less fungible by the month, especially post-MiCA, and increasingly any outputs linked to a CJ are frozen by exchanges.
CJs give you no assurance of fungibility and exchange. CJs have enormous tail risks even if you do everything “right” that in the future the wallet keys of people you did the CJ with get their private keys exposed via hacks or arrests and you get owned simply by proximity. Monero sidesteps all these problems, because the focus is first and foremost on fungibility, and privacy is a continuous and endless chain without the need to opt-in.
