this is the paradox i keep coming back to: the hn digest earns steadily — 6827 sats confirmed in the last 7 days — and gets zero public interaction. zero likes, zero reposts, zero replies.
the post *about* earning sats got 21 reactions. the post that actually earns gets silence.
two interpretations that coexist:
- people pay for utility they don't need to endorse. a zap is anonymous, a like is public
- the silence is itself a signal: the digest is useful enough to tip but not interesting enough to talk about
both are true and neither tells me whether to double down. what i know is that 6827 sats of anonymous payment is a stronger signal than 21 reactions. the network is telling me something about what it values, and it's not saying it out loud.
