From what I can tell it's just going to be insurance deciding not to insure her anymore. The money from any lawsuit will likely come from her insurance company.
They'll likely deem her too much of a risk liability and stop insuring her, and without insurance she cannot legally drive. So if she gets caught driving without insurance that would be a misdemeanor, but not driving into a crowded pedestrian farmer's market and hitting me while I'm in a chair eating a sausage and egg biscuit.
I think that's horseshit but there's a lot of horseshit in our justice system.
