I feel like Lolita was a little bit more of an eye opener when we weren't constantly seeing pedophiles in the news.
I'm still wondering about examples in the actual Catcher in the Rye vein but with female (or nb) protagonists, especially ones that were not YA.
Like, I'm going through my 70s-era authors and... none of the Judy Blume books were like that. Paula Danziger wasn't like that. Konigsburg? LeGuin? Many movies, but not as many books.
