They're also scanning the entire internet on from your connection. Our servers can't take it. If you have a modern smart TV please do your part and throw it in the garbage or learn to setup firewall rules to block it's scanning activity. Unfortunately without your consent, your smart TV is destroying the internet, and especially burdensome for smaller hosters.
Gamers Nexus researchers found LG TVs scanning entire local networks, mapping phones, PCs, watches, printers and other devices connected, and fingerprinting on-screen content continuously.
They also found that microphone audio was being recorded even while the screen appeared off.
Recordings were stored locally without an internet connection and uploaded once the TV reconnected. Muting one microphone did not stop a second from capturing ambient audio.
